How to Install WordPress Plugin in WP Dashboard | WordPress Tutorial 9


Hi friends, welcome to 9th WordPress tutorial for beginners series and in this tutorial you are going to see how to install WordPress plugin using WordPress dashboard. This tutorial is similar to previous WP theme Installation tutorials. It is very easy to install WordPress plugin and no technical skill is needed for it. There is also another method Plugin installation, via FTP (file Transfer protocol). It is needs some technical knowledge, so I am not included in this tutorial.

Here I am going to share the easiest method for installing WP Plugin in WP dashboard.

Things needed for this word press tutorial are:-

  • Self-hosted blog with Installed Word press
  • Word press Plug-in

You know that word press plugin are very important and it provides flexibility to your blog. So, select useful plugins as per your requirement and install it for converting your blog to flexible one.

For example, I am going to show “Theme Check” WordPress plugin installation tutorial using WP dashboard.

How to Install WordPress Plugin using WP Plugins Library

Step 1

First sign in to your WordPress dashboard using WP Login URL as mentioned below:-

http://your blogurl/wp-admin

Enter your WP username and password in required field and click on “Login” button.

Wait for loading the WP dashboard.


Step 2

Go to “Plugins” manager section and click on it. Then you can see “Installed Plugins” in this manager interface.



You can see the “Add New” button in the top most section of this manager interface and click on it for adding new WordPress plugin to your blog.



Step 3

It will direct you to WordPress plugins library and you can see a lot of useful plug-in. If you know the name of plug-in, you can search on the search bar.

Here I am selecting “Theme Check” plug-in which helps to try new WordPress themes preview on your blog.


Click on it to see the Theme Check WordPress plugin details, screenshot, user reviews and compatibility to your WordPress version.



Click on “install now” button to install it on your blog.



The rest of installation of WP plugin is automatic and after installation, you have to click on the “Activate” button to activate the plugin.



Go to “Installed Plugins” to check the activated WordPress plugin.

This way you can install WordPress plugin in your self-hosted blog. You can follow the same method to install other free WordPress plugins in to it.
